The Friends of the Fieseler Storch at the Nostaglic Flight Day in Meiringen
The weather played its part, too, on 13 May: Despite the thunderstorms during the weekend over Switzerland and some low clouds in the morning, weather on Saturday was flyable in Bernese Hasli valley.
Although we were only present with one aircraft – the A-99 – our Stork was of course a magnet for the visitors, together with our beautiful neighbour, the marvelous DC-3 from Grenchen.1500 visitors came to see the spectacle, many of them onboard their own aircraft whcih were lied up along the taxiway. More exquisite guests were to be found opposite the hangars on their display of honour: An Ercoupe, an An-2 "Aunt Anna" of the Antonov Association Switzerland or a Yak 52. Grilled saucages and a draft or other refreshments complemented the airshow.
A definite highlight was a formation take off of the DC-3 togehter with a Ju 52 of our friends from JU-AIR and thereafter a common recognition flight over the Gauli glaicier. Now we know, what "formation flight" really means. The Nostalgic Flight Day in Meiringen was a full success
